ANSWER AND CROSS-PETITION
The respondent in ANSWER to the petition filed in this suit says that:-
1. Paragraphs 1 to 12 of the petition are admitted.
2. The respondent denies that he has behaved himself in such a way that the petitioner cannot reasonably be expected to live with the respondent and specifically denies the allegations of behaviour contained in paragraph 13 of the petition.
3. The said marriage has broken down irretrievably by reason of the matters set out hereinafter.
4. The petitioner has committed adultery with [name] (hereinafter called ‘the party cited’) and the respondent finds it intolerable to live with the petitioner.
5. Since about the day of at an address or addresses
unknown to the respondent the petitioner has committed adultery with the party cited.
The respondent therefore prays:-
1. That the prayer of the petition may be rejected.
2. That the marriage may be dissolved.
3. That the petitioner and the party cited may be ordered to pay the costs of this suit.
4. That the respondent may be granted the following ancillary relief:-
i. a lump sum order;
ii. a property adjustment order;
iii. an order under Section 24B, 25B or 25C of the Act of 1973 (pension sharing/attachment order).
