CHECKLIST
Before you put away your file on the divorce, you should check that everything has been dealt with. In particular:
• Have you got your decree absolute?
• Have all arrangements for any children (with whom they will live and contact with the other parent, including holiday contact) been finalised? Remember that no order is required setting out these arrangements, if they are agreed.
• Has child maintenance been agreed, or dealt with by the Child Support Agency?
• Has a full financial/property settlement been agreed/ordered by the court? If it has been agreed, has a consent order, giving effect to the agreement, been made by the court?
• Lastly, have all the terms of the financial/property settlement been implemented? This will include payment of lump sums, transfers of property, implementation of pension sharing orders and dealing with any endowment policies.
