QUANTIFYING COSTS COSTS OF THE DIVORCE ( Costs and Legal Aid+DIVORCING WITHOUT A LAWYER )
Generally speaking, costs orders will take one of two forms: either the court will quantify the costs when it makes the order, or it will order that either the costs are agreed between the parties (see below) or, if not agreed, they will be assessed by the court. Having costs assessed by the court involves preparing a detailed bill (in the required format) and sending it to the court for it to be assessed. The court will consider not just the rates charged, but also whether the work claimed was properly required to be done.
