An application for child support can be made online via the CSA’s website (www.csa.gov.uk), by telephone to the appropriate child support office for your area or by completing a form (either by hand after printing it from the website or online and then printing
off). The application requires you to give details about yourself, details about the children and details about the other parent, so far as they are known to you.
Once the application has been made the Agency will contact the NRP, usually by phone, to gather the information it requires to make an assessment. The Agency says that it aims to make the assessment within 12 weeks of the application but admits that it can take up to six months.
