Domestic Violence

If you are a victim of domestic violence then you will probably want to instruct a solicitor to represent you. This chapter will not therefore go into as much detail as other chapters. However, many victims are not eligible for legal aid and cannot afford to instruct a solicitor. This chapter is therefore designed to give basic help to such people and also those who are accused of domestic violence. Note that criminal matters are not discussed (save in relation to breaches of court orders), as they are beyond the scope of this BLOG.
