WHAT IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE? ( Domestic Violence + DIVORCING WITHOUT A LAWYER )

The first thing to emphasise is that ‘domestic violence’ does not just include physical violence. The government defines domestic violence as ‘Any incident of threatening behaviour, violence or abuse (psychological, physical, sexual, financial or emotional) between adults who are or have been intimate partners or family members, regardless of gender or sexuality.’ Accordingly, it includes such things as making threats, verbal abuse, harassment and even withholding money.
